Aperitivo Pizza Bar

ABOUT US

Ever since Angelo Angelis opened a successful pizzeria in downtown Brooklyn in the 1960’s, we have striven to make the city’s best pizza. After a while, we started to get noticed—“Voted among the Best Pizzeria in NY.” —NY Times

Our family wasn’t happy with second best—Nick Tsoulos, Angelo’s son-in-law, opened Patsy’s Pizzeria in Manhattan in the 1990’s. Once again, critics noticed.
“The pizzas are superb.”  —NY Times

Before long we started to grow. John and Nick Angelis branched out into the city and opened Nick’s Family Style. John opened Adrienne’s with the city’s first rectangular pizza. The tradition of pizza-making continued beyond New York and branched out to Philadelphia as Nick Pashalis, along with his brother Peter, opened the city’s first coal-oven pizzeria, Pietro’s with more accolades—“Pietro’s is pizza perfection.”—The Philadelphia Inquirer

In November 2006, Mirene Angelis opened her piece of the pie...she claims she created one even better and named it “Dean’s” after her father’s favorite entertainer. Shortly after successful debut, she opened two more Dean’s on Broadway and 85th and Greenwich Street in Tribeca. She claims that this is the city’s best brick-oven pizza, and many people and critics agree. “Highly Recommended” New York Magazine reader poll.

In December 2008, “New York City’s First Family of Pizza” opened yet another slice of pizza heaven. “Aperitivo” is spacious, modern and magnificent.  Located at 3rd Avenue and 48th, Aperitivo is referred to as “TIVO” by their loyal locals. Critics have called Aperitivo a  “Midtown Modern Pizza Oasis” and a “Precocious Contender for the City’s Best Pizza”.

See for yourself what all the buzz is about.
